- SET-UP PREPARATION
Unpacking the ice bath tub
Choose a smooth and clean surface without any rocks or sharp objects, where you will be able to unpack the ice bath tub. Fold it out until it lays flat with the front facing up.
Valve operation
Follow the instructions in the valve operation guide below to correctly inflate the ice bath tub.
The inflation valve is on the side of the tub. To close the valve, it is important that the valve pin is set to the “UP” position.
If the valve pin is in the “DOWN” position, press down on the valve pin until it is in the “UP” position.
To open the valve for deflation, press down on the valve pin (no need to turn it); it is important that the valve pin is in the “DOWN” position.
Be aware that the area around the valve needs to be clear of sand and other particles when inflating and deflating the ice bath tub.
Always remember to attach the valve cover when not inflating or deflating the ice bath tub.
- INFLATION GUIDE
• Unscrew the valve cap, press down the valve pin to open the valve, and let air seep into the ice bath tub. In order to save the time of inflation, press down on the valve pin again until it is in the “UP” position to close the valve.
• Find the pump and connect the hose to the pump.
• Connect the pump to the valve tank and turn it 180 degrees clockwise.
• Start pumping, move the pump handle up and down. Keep pumping air into the ice bath tub until it reaches the right air pressure. The correct air pressure is a minimum of 8 psi and a maximum of 10 psi.
• When done inflating, put the valve cover back on and tighten it. The valve cover is the only thing that can make sure it’s fully airtight.
Inflation Tips and Precautions
• DO NOT use an air compressor. Damage to your ice bath tub caused by over-inflation from an air compressor is not covered by our warranty.
• After 2 or 3 days, there may be a small decrease in pressure due to temperature changes. If so, add a few pumps of air.
• DO NOT over-inflate the ice bath tub. The correct air pressure is a minimum of 8 psi and a maximum of 10 psi.
- LEAK DETECTION AND REPAIR
If the tub is losing air pressure, it is important to investigate if the ice bath tub has leaks.
To locate a leak, we recommend mixing soap and water in a spray bottle and spraying around the valve. If you see bubbles forming, check your valve sealing and base and be sure the valve insert is screwed tight.
Repair Kit
Punctures less than 1/8” in size can be repaired simply without a patch.
Deflate your tub, then clean and dry the area to be repaired. Apply a small drop of glue to cover the puncture, and let it dry for 12 hours.
If your tub needs repair, use the patches in the repair kit and follow these steps:
- Deflate the ice bath tub, lay it flat, and wait for it to dry.
- Cut a patch that is 2 inches larger than the tear/rip all the way around.
- Use alcohol to clean the repair area.
- Apply three coats of adhesive to the patch and the board. Wait 5 minutes between each coat.
- Place the patch over the tear/rip. The adhesive will react quickly, so make sure the positioning is precise and accurate. Use the roller to ensure the patch lays flat and even.
- Wait 24 hours before re-inflating the tub.
