The days are getting longer, the sun is shining, and temperatures are rising above 20 degrees – it’s that time of the year again: the new pool season is about to begin. To ensure a summer full of swimming fun, you should prepare your pool in advance. Below, we have summarized the most important steps for pool cleaning.

Removing the Winter Cover
Use a drainage pump to remove any residual water from the winter cover before taking it off. Clean, dry, and store the winter cover properly. Now, decide whether you want to completely replace the pool water or not. If the pool was properly prepared for winter and there are no visible impurities, the existing water can be used for another season.
Connecting the Filter Pump
Check all seals on fittings, water valves, and the filter tank. If you find any leaks, treat them with silicone grease. Afterward, reconnect the filter pump and all parts that were removed for winterization.
Limpeza da piscina
Start with a thorough spring cleaning of your pool. First, remove any large debris with a pool skimmer. Then, use a pool vacuum or brush to clean the walls and floor of your pool. Apply an acidic cleaner to the exposed sidewalls with a sponge to remove limescale, mineral deposits, and colored residues along the waterline. Let the cleaner sit for 10 to 20 minutes before rinsing it off. For grease, dirt, or stubborn deposits around the waterline, you can use an alkaline cleaner. If you prefer to clean without chemicals, we recommend our magic eraser sponges, specifically designed for use with pool liners.
TIP:
Avoid using household cleaners for pool cleaning. They can cause cloudiness, foam formation, or even algae growth.
Filling the Pool with Water
To prevent algae formation, we recommend treating the exposed pool liner with an algaecide before refilling the pool with fresh water.
Starting the Filtration System
Check your filter material. If you use filter sand and it is calcified or dirty, it should be replaced. Filter sand should be changed every two years. For lower maintenance, you can use filter glass. Our high-tech filter glass ensures crystal-clear pool water and can be reused for up to 10 years. If the filter material is in good condition, turn on the filtration system and let it run for at least 12 to 24 hours until the water has been circulated at least three times.
Performing a Shock Chlorination
At the start of the swimming season, carry out a shock chlorination. After 48 hours, use a test kit to check the chlorine and pH levels, adjust if necessary, and then proceed with your regular pool maintenance routine.
Relaxing in Your Pool
Now, nothing stands in the way of your pool enjoyment! As soon as the first sunny days arrive, you can relax on your pool lounger and enjoy your clean and refreshing pool.
