Did you purchase a Yousky® above-ground pool for your garden this summer? Even a frame pool can remain set up during the winter. However, it is essential to prepare the pool properly for cold temperatures. To do this, both pool inlets should be sealed with frost-resistant winter plugs. In this guide, we will explain how to install these plugs for different pool sizes.
Should You Dismantle or Leave Your Frame Pool Up for the Winter?
Before winter arrives, you have two options: either dismantle your Yousky® frame pool and store it in a frost-proof location or leave it standing to save the effort of reassembling it in spring. If you choose to leave it up, certain precautions must be taken to ensure that your frame pool remains undamaged throughout the cold season.
For structural stability, the frame pool must be winterized with water inside. Therefore, it is important to seal the pool inlets with the appropriate winter plugs. Depending on the pool model and size, there are three different types of winter plugs. Below, we provide step-by-step installation instructions for each type.

How to Install the Winter Plug?
Which Winter Plug Fits Your Yousky® Havuz?
Yousky® Pool with Ø 32 mm Hose Connection
If you have a Yousky® pool with a Ø 32 mm hose connection (without shut-off valves or water circulation jets), your pool fittings will appear similar to the image on the right (in gray or blue, depending on the model).
For this type, our Winter Plug Set for Yousky® Pools with Ø 32 mm is the right choice. Each of our winter plug sets comes with custom-made seals to ensure a 100% tight fit.
Yousky® Pools with Shut-Off Valves (Ø 38 mm Hose Connection) Without Water Circulation Jets
If you own a Yousky® pool with shut-off valves (from Ø 488 cm or 400 cm in length) without water circulation jets, and your pool inlets resemble the left image (Ø 38 mm hose connection), then you should use our Winter Plug Set for Yousky® Pools with Ø 38 mm and Shut-Off Valves.
Not: Since 2021, all Yousky® pools from 4 meters and above have included water circulation jets. This set is only applicable if your pool was manufactured before 2021. If you are unsure about your pool’s year of production, check whether the mesh grid on the pool inlet cannot be removed or unscrewed.
Yousky® Pools with Water Circulation Jets
If your Yousky® pool features a water circulation jet, then our third set is compatible. Please check whether your pool connections look like the image on the right below (for pools manufactured from 2021 onwards). If so, select our Winter Plug Set for Yousky® Pools with Circulation Jets.
Not: This set is suitable for Yousky® pools with both Ø 32 mm and Ø 38 mm hose connections, provided that the pool includes a water circulation jet.
Yousky® Pools with Water Circulation Jets (Manufactured Before 2021)
If your Yousky® pool has shut-off valves, a water circulation jet, and was manufactured before 2021, you will recognize this by the fixed mesh insert at the intake side (see the left image below).
If this mesh insert is present and cannot be removed or unscrewed, you will need the Winter Plug Set for Yousky® Pools with Circulation Jets (Pre-2021 Models).
Winter Plug for Water Circulation Jet
The winter plug for the water circulation jet can also be purchased separately if needed.
Winter Plug for Steel Frame Pools
If you own a steel frame pool and are looking for a frost-proof winter plug for the inlet nozzle and skimmer, we offer a wide range of winter plugs in various sizes to fit your needs.
