Did you get a Yousky® above-ground pool for your garden this summer? Even a frame pool can be left standing throughout winter, provided it is properly prepared for the cold temperatures. To protect your pool, the two pool connections should be sealed with frost-resistant winter plugs. In this guide, we’ll show you how to winterize your Yousky® pool based on different pool sizes.
Dismantling or Keeping Your Frame Pool Up in Winter?
Before winter arrives, you have two options for your Yousky® frame pool: either dismantle and store it safely or leave it set up and avoid reassembling it in spring. If you decide to keep it up, certain precautions must be taken to ensure your pool remains undamaged throughout the cold season.
For stability reasons, the pool must be left filled with water. This makes it essential to winterize your pool connections using the appropriate winter plugs. Depending on your pool model and size, there are three types of winter plugs available. Below, we explain how to install them step by step.
How to Install the Winter Plug?
Which Winter Plug is Suitable for Your Yousky® Pool?

Yousky® Pool with Ø 32 mm Hose Connection
If you own a Yousky® pool with a Ø 32 mm hose connection and without water shut-off valves or circulation jets, you need our Yousky® Winter Plug Set for Ø 32 mm Pools. These connections may be gray or blue, depending on the pool model.
Each winter plug set comes with custom-made gaskets to ensure a 100% watertight seal.
Yousky® Pools with Shut-Off Valves (Ø 38 mm Hose Connection) Without Circulation Jets
For Yousky® pools with shut-off valves and a Ø 38 mm hose connection (typically found in pools from 4m in length), you should use the Yousky® Winter Plug Set for Ø 38 mm Pools with Shut-Off Valves.
Note: Since 2021, all Yousky® pools from 4m onwards have been equipped with circulation jets. This set is only suitable if your pool was manufactured before 2021. If you’re unsure of your pool’s manufacturing year, check whether the mesh insert at the pool connection is fixed and cannot be removed.
Yousky® Pools with Circulation Jets
If your Yousky® pool has circulation jets (models from 2021 onwards), you will need the Yousky® Winter Plug Set for Pools with Circulation Jets. Make sure your pool connections match the image shown in our guide before purchasing.
This set is compatible with both Ø 32 mm and Ø 38 mm hose connections, as long as your pool features a circulation jet.
Yousky® Pools with Circulation Jets, Manufactured Before 2021
If your Yousky® pool has shut-off valves and circulation jets but was manufactured before 2021, it will have a fixed mesh insert at the suction side. If this mesh insert is non-removable, you need the Yousky® Winter Plug Set for Circulation Jets (Pre-2021 Models with Shut-Off Valves).
Winter Plug for Circulation Jets
You can also purchase the winter plug for circulation jets separately.
Winter Plug for Steel-Walled Pools
If you own a Yousky® steel-walled pool and are looking for a frost-resistant winter plug for your return jet or skimmer, we offer a wide range of winter plugs in various sizes to suit your needs.
